Love,Sex and Dating
Love to so many youth is having sex .To them it is a once -in-a-lifetime feeling of sheer ecstasy.Love,they believe is strictly an affair of the heart,something that cannot be understood,just experienced.No doubt about it,falling in love can be a uniquely beautiful experience.But what exactly is real love?
Love At First Sight.
A friend of mine,Matthew by name met a girl for the first time at a party.He was immediately attracted to her shapely figure and the way her hair tumbled over her eye when she laughed.The girl,Magaret was enchanted by his deep brown eyes and his witty conversation.It all seem like real love at first sight.
After three weeks of being together,Matthew and Magaret were inseparable.Then one day Magaret received a devastating phone call from a former boyfriend.She call Matthew for comfort.But my friend,felt threatened and confused,responded coldly.The love they thought would last forever died that day.
The movies we see today,especially the romantic movies,soaps and books would paint love at first sight as love that last forever.Physical attractiveness is usually what makes two people notice each other in the first place.As a young man put it,"it is hard to 'see' a person's personality"But what is it that one "loves" when a relationship is but a few hours or days old?Is it not the image that person projects?In the real sense of it,you know nothing about that person's thoughts,fears,plans,hopes,skills,habits,or abilities.You have only met the outer shell or the container,not the content.Ho enduring could such love be?
Looks Can Be Deceptive
In so many instances,outward appearances can be deceiving.Many young people have fallen in the trap of "looks".Any love built on outward appearances in most cases result into hurts,hearts breaks and hatred.It is a great danger to fall 'in love' with the way someone looks-and ignore what that person is inside.
